THE CORPRENEUR BRIEF Intelligence for the executive who's building beyond the org chart. Issue #010 | Monday, June 15th
Last week I asked you to count how many times someone came to you for advice, strategy, or a judgment call.
This week I want to go one level deeper.
I want you to ask yourself what it would actually take to make that expertise visible outside your company. Not to leave your job. Not to blow up your career. Just to build the infrastructure that lets the market find you while you keep doing what you're already doing.
Because here's what most senior professionals don't realize. The US management consulting market is sitting at nearly $467 billion this year. And a significant portion of that doesn't flow through the big firms. It flows through independent advisors, individual people with deep domain expertise, who work directly with companies on a fractional or project basis.
That market is looking for exactly what you have. The problem is they can't find you yet.
Small and mid-sized companies right now are actively seeking fractional executives, senior operators, and domain experts who can come in and solve the specific problem they can't solve internally. They don't want a full-time hire. They want someone who has already been in the room and knows what to do. Someone with the kind of experience that only comes from years inside a real organization navigating real complexity.
That's you. Exactly you.
The gap between where you are and where you could be isn't capability. It's visibility. And visibility is something you can build right now, alongside your corporate role, without it being a distraction or a conflict.
This week's action. I want you to identify one type of company, by size, by industry, or by the stage they're in, that has the exact problem you've spent your career solving. Not a vague answer. One specific answer. Write it down.
That's your first advisory target market. Everything we build on this week comes from that one answer.
Come back Wednesday. We're going deeper.
Take the Corporate Income Audit and start mapping what your expertise is worth to that market. Take the audit here.
